Middleton Old Cemetery - Section M

Section M lies to the South-East of the cemetery. From the main entrance, bear left onto the tarmac path and then turn right. Continue to the end of this path. on your left is a small triangular plot that contains the first 5 graves of Section M. Walk down the steps and you pass grave M5, turn left and at the top f the steps you are at grave M16. Continue straight and you will get to grave M11. Walking down the steps you will pass graves M16, M24, M33 etc.

The orange line on the plan below is a barley discernable path that separates Section M from Section N. There is no visible separation between these 2 Sections in the lower area. It should be noted that the graves in this area are misaligned  (due to the fan shape of the section) so Grave M70 will be on a direct line to M11.
Plots 6 to 10 were not used and now form the middle path.

 

Layout and Numbering

Graves M1 to M5 are in the small upper area. M11 to M115 are in the lower area.

On the plan below, Green indicates a used plot. Red is unused and Yellow are additional graves not on the original plan. For the yellow graves, I have had to use a best estimate as to the actual location.
