M24 Burials

St. John's, Thornham

The current St John's was built in 1906/7 to replace the smaller Church on Thornham Lane (now the primary school).

Two sets of records are available, the burial register and the grave register. Both will be transcribed over the coming winter, with the data compiled into a single database. Once this is complete, a transcription of the stones will be undertaken and any additional information added to the database.

 

Layout

When the yard was originally laid out, a grid plan was produced with each grave numbered. Some of these plots were subsequently used as hedges and paths, others became unusable due to misalignment of adjacent graves
