M24 Burials

Mills Hill Baptist Church

Mills Hill Baptist Church is located on the border of Middleton and Chadderton. Services were initially held in a converted barn from 1845 and the building we see today was constructed in 1849

Numbering

The graves surround the church on 4 sides. Throughout the yard are a number of small grave markers, which bear a plot number, some of these follow a regular numbering sequence, others do not. In order to aid the visitor to easily locate any grave, I have used a new numbering system shown on the plan. (Numbering from 1001 to 1206). Where an original plot number is known this is shown underneath the new number.

Between 2012 and 2015, in order to comply with disability access regulations, a new access ramp was constructed to the front of the church. This meant that the stones in that area (approximately 24) had to be relocated.

The search page will show a grave number according to the plan. The original number, if known, will be shown in the "Additional Details" column.

A number of other marker stones have been found, some against the boundary fence, others stacked against the side wall. The details of these have been recorded but at the time of writing the location of these burial plots is unknown.

The actual burial records have not yet been consulted, but these are available. Once transcribed any additional information will be added to the database.
