Middleton Old Cemetery - Section L

Section L lies to the South of the cemetery. Enter through the main entrance and bear left onto the tarmac path. Turn right at the end of this path and continue until you reach a "T" junction. In front and to your right is grave L3A.

 

Layout and Numbering

Graves L1  and L2 are unused. If you turn right you will find graves L3 to L10, if you follow the downhill path you will pass L11 an L22. Graves L1 to L42 are in the upper section. L56 to L44 were unused, as these form the middle path. Section L is the only section to the South that has graves in the lower section so any graves below the middle path up the the steps are in Section L

Graves L187 and L200 are shown in the grave register. These appear to be south of the lower path, but I have found no evidence of grave markers in that area.

On the plan below, Green indicates a used plot. Red is unused and Yellow are additional graves not on the original plan. For the yellow graves, I have had to use a best estimate as to the actual location.
