Middleton Old Cemetery - Section FF

Section FF lies to the South-West of the cemetery. Enter through the main entrance and bear right onto the tarmac path, turn left and continue to the end of the path. Bear right and continue until you come to a path on your left. The grave at this corner is FF169.

Layout and Numbering

The whole of this area was left clear, apart form the memorial obelisk to Sam Bamford. (Sam is buried in Churchyard No3). The memorial was built by public subscription and unveiled on October 6th 1877.

By 1904, new graves in the cemetery were becoming scarce and it was decided that a number of plots would be made available in this area.

From the Tarmac path, the grave numbers increase as you move South-West
