M24 Burials

Names

This page lists alternate spellings of names where the record book does not match the stone, names that have changed spelling over the years, other alternative spellings have been identified or the handwriting makes it difficult to work out the correct spelling.

This list is not definitive. Differentiating between "e" and "i" in hand written records can be difficult so "Wellens" could be transcribed as "Willins", "Wellins or "Willens"

For many of these, other sets of records have been examined to determine the correct spelling. Where a stone has been transcribed, the spelling on the stone is used but Alternatives are shown in the notes column.

Some stones will have a family name and show "xxx, Their Daughter" the burial records may show a different surname if the daughter was married. In this case the name from the burial records had been shown.
